I guess...the only thing cheap to you is your friends...
keep it on wax Defintiion
"Keep it on Wax" was a phrase used by the band Alexisonfire. It was written to express their feelings towards their former drummer, Jesse Ingelevics(2001-2005).
1 - An expression of bad blood/beef through music or poetry. The intended response is that the issue will not spill over to people who have no knowledge in the subject. Or, moreover, keep the issue silent from unrelated parties.
I guess, the only thing cheap to you is your friends
You can always make new friends
But when you sell them out will they be worth as much?
Now this bridge is ashes
It might as well have never been built
Little river that it crossed
Looks like an ocean now
Times change and people change with them
Some people love to play the victim
Threw caution to the wind
Washed away these few last years for nothing
Keep it on wax
Your not the only one
Who's left to make sacrifices
And time won't heal shit
When you got your hands in my pocket
Kick, Kick, Kick
Scream, Scream, Scream
Won't change a god damn thing
Kick, Kick, Kick
Scream, Scream, Scream
I, I guess, the only thing cheap to you is your friends
what a fucking shame that you had to mess things up this bad
xoxo

Things i love Friday!

This week i've mostly done nothing, which is actually kinda nice, spent a lot of time with Boyhalf catching up on recorded TV and cuddles, LOTS of cuddles.
Excitment abound though, photographer Massimo Gammacurta created these A-DORABLE fashion lollypops as the perfect thing to keep you occupied front row at fashion week. Now if there's one thing that can compete for my affections against fashion, it's candy.
Apparently they come in Louis Vuitton Watermelon, Gucci Pomegranate, Yves Saint Laurent Caramel and Cherry and Chanel Apple and Lilac.
I always said i had a taste for high fashion. So here's some other things i'm loving this week.......
Scarlett Johannson and Dita Von Teese's shoot in FLAUNT magazine, Etsy WTF!?, Holgaroid, Pamela Anderson for Vivienne Westwood, The regional assembly of text, Drinks so cold your teeth sting, Finding out Four Year Strong are supporting Alexisonfire, Set Your Goals new album, Talking things over with friends and realising when everything's going to be OK, Talking paintings, Chicken Victoria (so good i put my NAME on it), £4 return flights, Planning summer 2010 villa escapades, Punkalendar.com, Bruno, Mint Magnums, CSI season one, The Boyhalf (Still mad cute, still my favourite person, still rocks my world).

Things i love Friday
This week i've had such a lovely time. I like when you get some time off to play and catch up with the people in your life. Tonight my girl Jamielee is back from Ibiza and i have missed her quite a bit so we're doing a little get together at her and V's pad (which is actually now Jamie, V AND Dibble's pad).Last night i was told i should seriously consider being a writer, all because a text message i sent about Jabba and the Whale Rider, which was apparently hilarious. It's something i always wanted as a kid and after keeping up with this blog so well and knowing there are really people who actually read what i say is a real compliment. I like being told i'm funny, it's what a value most. Above being told i'm pretty or smart or anything else. Funny is where i get my kicks.
So once again let's hear it for the honourable mentions....
The incredibly sunny weather, wearing my Pittsburgh Steelers tee everywhere, free suite upgrades at fancy hotels, One Tree Hill marathons, Jack Daniels in a can, Judging people on their outfits, ELLE magazines runway edition, having my boys backs, being told how cute i am, 50's swimsuits, Swooning over Johnny Depp in spats, Chris Merritt, Wyatt Cenac, Ice Cream Sundaes, My new brogue plimsols, Louis Vuitton bunny ears, Alexisonfire and Jack's Mannequin tickets arriving, Finally having my tattoo designed, New Dinosaurs!, Bruce Springsteen at Glastonbury.

So that's what death tastes like.

Well, i went to see Terminator:Salvation last night, on the promise of Anton Yelchin (although my disappointed surfaced as i realised i only have a girl boner for his russian accent and not a whole lot more ) and Christian Bale wank bank material i figured there were worse ways to spend an evening.
I was never really a big fan of T:3 but i really loved this movie. I think that people unfamiliar with the Terminator series will enjoy it more than those die hard fanboys, but even they will enjoy the cute references and masses of action on offer here. It is MILES better than T:3 but still has a long way to go to fully put that stamp of authority on this franchise.
It feels like McG has taken a leaf out of Michael Bay's book in his post-apocalyptic view on the world after Judgement day and it settles better than the done to death look of Resident Evil and I Am Legend.
Although i will say Skynet seems to be a fairly simple place to bust into despite being oh so advanced, i mean it seems all you have to do is shut down the north gun tower, and you're cooking with gas.. Does that make much sense? Shouldn’t the mecca of machines have better security? Air patrols? ground patrols? cameras? motion detectors? A pesky little guard dog that can't be tamed with trats? Fishing wire tied around pots and pans? Anything that might alert the central hub that its been busted into.
If it’s that easy to get in, why didn't the resistance do it already?
Oh, that’s right - they didn’t have the help of a human-friendly Terminator with a heart of gold. Which, fortunately, has the same blood type as John Connor. And doesn’t require immuno-suppressant drugs. But I digress.
I enjoyed the basic storyline, wasn't bored and wasn't confused, which is all you can really ask for in a thrill seekers movie like this one. The Terminator franchise was never meant to be a cerebral stimulant and that's a-ok with me.
Pee Ess children of the blogsphere. Alexisonfire have just announced they'll be playing Glasgow ABC October 16th with The Ghost Of A Thousand and The Fall Of Troy. Stellar Stellar line up ! Git It Done.

Are you out of your Vulcan mind?

So last night me and Boyhalf FINALLY managed to go see Star Trek. Oh man.
I literally cannot describe the fangirl excitement i've felt about seeing this since it was announced. As my mummy reminded me a few weeks ago, when i was little i used to make her watch The Original Series with me and i totally wanted to be on that bridge, I was pretty sure i'd be the first girl captain (of course come Voyager, i was pipped to the post).
So yes, this was a big deal.
I mean i watched Nemisis and that, and while it wasn't a truely horrific experience, it wasn't too great either so in looking to the new Star Trek i was anxious, and seeing J.J Abrams attached did not help quash my fears (JJ and i have been at war since MI:3...not a fan. Plus i still don't get Lost at all.) but it could have been a worse director i suppose (*COUGH* Joel Schumacher *COUGH*)
But OH MAN. If you haven't seen this movie, i really can't urge you enough to get off your ass and go. It's totally amazing. It caters to the die hard fan (except that one guy we saw on a message board who said he was boycotting the film after seeing a screencap where young Spock's Vulcan salute was 6 degrees off...Hi. Geekwad? Go get laid. Please) and it caters to the new fan, the person who just wants to see a great movie. Chris Pine was a fantastic choice for Kirk, having the sleazy machismo down to the letter and Zachary Quinto's Spock, while not Nimoy, was flawless.
I'm not going to sit and write a plot run through because 1- assed and 2- you can just google it if you really want to know what happens, but i will leave you with this... i think i'm in love with Chekov and i still wish i was a Starfleet Captain.
Pee Ess - If you're decent you should be checking out the new Alexisonfire song 'Young Cardinals'. It's possibly my favourite song in a while.
Oh& the new jam from Cobra Starship 'Good Girls Go Bad' is rad as bits too.
Peace xoxo
