update...

so that bad feeling in my tummy was justified...but not for the reason i thought. What i thought was going to go wrong actually couldn't be better (I'm VERY MUCH in love) and a friendship i thought was solid turned out to be the furthest thing from it.
C'est La Vie as they say, I know i've said my piece and i won't dwell on waiting. Noone should ever dwell on the bad times.

So my birthday came and went and was INCREDIBLE !!

We had a 1920's themed party and EVERYONE looked awesome (Boyhalf looked especially dapper) i feel so happy to have such wonderful pals.
For my birthday i was spoiled rotten, i won't go into everything i got but my favourite things were LIPS : Number one hits for the Xbox 360 and my Betsey Johnson watch, bracelet and necklace. Also our new tv is amazing and i FINALLY got a new camera so i no longer have to rely on everyone else's photo skills!!
Getting LIPS was awesome, i've since been serenading Boyhalf with Marvin Gaye songs intersperced with Baby Got Back. I'm a total gem i tell ya!!
Im making an early new years resolution to blog more!!

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Last night Boyhalf informed me that since it's a month till Christmas it's acceptable for me to start playing holiday music in the flat again without looking slightly odd. This excites me.

I especially adore Dustin Kensrue of Thrice's album "This Good Night Is Stll Everywhere". It's lovely. As well as the Bright Eyes Christmas album.
I've always been more of a fan of cover versions of christmas songs, and its tradition now for me and Boyhalf to put on a playlist of christmas covers and put up out tree and then drink coco with marshmallows after. I can't wait :D

Who's been a naughty blogger?

I am scolding myself for being a bad blogger and leaving y'all for far too long :[ So much has been going on in my offline life i've barely found any time to sit down let alone get tapping on my keys. Plus my laptop charger decided it was suicidal and so now i'm using the Boyhalf's computer.
The weather is icky right now. Too much wet made me realise i don't have much rain friendly clothes. I don't wear trousers, i have one pair of jeans and they're rockabilly style capri's so not much use unless i want soaking legs. This is when thick tights become my friend.
I made several new purchases such as these Reko for Topshop delights.

The Boyhalf won a £50 Topman voucher so he's been assisting me in the shopping days, i think we've collectively kept the Topshop/Topman brand in business this week. MUST NOT LOOK AT BANK STATEMENT.

Boyhalf and i are planning a trip to Thorpe Park soon so i'm SUPER excited about that too. I love amusement parks and we went to Disneyland last December for my 21st so this would be amazing.

It's all go kids.

What's new with you?

Reason #764686 i love my fiance.

I've been having a crappy time lately with work stuff so the wonderful Boyhalf ordered me these beauties from my favourite shoe girl Shoe Missy, check out her stuff it's phenomenal. These babies go with so much of my stuff since i have an 80% nautical inspired/navy red and white wardrobe ! He's a keeper for sure.

Capital Lights!

Last weekend was wicked good, despite the fact i appear to have contracted death flu from Edinburgh, it was so worth it. I miss my Jen quite alot and didn't really realise it until i went to visit her. The Hive was like the hottest place EVER, no idea how these girls can keep their perfect hair in that sort of climate. Gutted mine hits mad medusa lady on the frizz-o-meter within a foot of any humidity.

Suzie and JenJen on Jen's massssive stairs.

Me posing as per usual.

JenJen, Suzie and Moi.

Blurry mirror pictures are the staple of any good night out.

These ones from Friday also make my life.

L -R : I don't know, Matt, Nikki, Paularina, Moi, Colleen.

Bend it like Barbie?

The recent trend of chicing up Barbie's image makes it OK for us grown up (at least by age) types to celebrate the life and times of Barbara Millicent Roberts.
As my latest new bag purchase shows, i'm well on board.

Paul's Boutique Loves Barbie patent twister bag, £80.00, Asos.com

Then i saw this football table today and i squealed. Suddenly i was hunting down a spare 10,000 Euro and an excuse to the Boyhalf. Sadly thanks to me NOT being a millionaire, it looks like it won't be mine but we can still lust over the absurdetity, awesomeness and sheer genuis combined of Barbie Foot.

Barbie Foot, 10,000 Euro, Chloe Ruchon on request.

Designed by young up and coming Chloe Ruchon for the DMY Internation design fetsival in Berlin, there are only 9 of these in circulation but if you happen to get your chic little butts to my favourite place on earth, Paris, soon there's one on display in the window of Colette on the Rue Saint-Honoré.

By now you know what this is about....

Friday Friday Friday.
This week i have been a bit of a recluse, BLAME the last week before payday. Boo!!
I did however manage a couple catch up's with Schmoo and saw my little brother a LOT. Also bought him a present, which he'll get in due course. Saw Have Heart's last tour, except Pat wasn't singing for them which was sucky, but Steve still did a quality job of actually putting the show together so snaps for Steve.

The things keeping me sane this week,

Have Heart show, Cocktail catch-ups, "it was so cute when you were pretending to have willpower", Filthy conversations with Dayna, Prada pop-up shop, Sale shopping, Date night, Alexi Murdoch, Doing my 'Baby Got Back' booty shake in the Co-op aisles for Boyhalf's amusement, Meeting the little brother's new lady (she's fabulous FYI), 8-Bit Weezer covers, Being complimented on my style by strangers, Kirsty Allie's Twitter updates, 'stuff you will hate', Putting the final touches to "Operation Rabbit Hole" (NOT a euphamism) which should hopefully be launching next month!, Moustache sticks, The neon ring Miss V gave me that is now around my neck, Scar-Jo as a redhead.

pee ess.
I really miss the wifely one.
It feels like forever since a catch up and i feel like i'm missing several important organs.

Things i love Friday!

This week i've mostly done nothing, which is actually kinda nice, spent a lot of time with Boyhalf catching up on recorded TV and cuddles, LOTS of cuddles.
Excitment abound though, photographer Massimo Gammacurta created these A-DORABLE fashion lollypops as the perfect thing to keep you occupied front row at fashion week. Now if there's one thing that can compete for my affections against fashion, it's candy.
Apparently they come in Louis Vuitton Watermelon, Gucci Pomegranate, Yves Saint Laurent Caramel and Cherry and Chanel Apple and Lilac.

I always said i had a taste for high fashion.
So here's some other things i'm loving this week.......

Scarlett Johannson and Dita Von Teese's shoot in FLAUNT magazine, Etsy WTF!?, Holgaroid, Pamela Anderson for Vivienne Westwood, The regional assembly of text, Drinks so cold your teeth sting, Finding out Four Year Strong are supporting Alexisonfire, Set Your Goals new album, Talking things over with friends and realising when everything's going to be OK, Talking paintings, Chicken Victoria (so good i put my NAME on it), £4 return flights, Planning summer 2010 villa escapades, Punkalendar.com, Bruno, Mint Magnums, CSI season one, The Boyhalf (Still mad cute, still my favourite person, still rocks my world).

Things i Love Friday!

This week i enjoyed work for the first time in what feels like forever. I've been working in a different department and it's been really busy and fun and i just feel like this is something i can really see myself doing. Luckily next week i'll be super busy since the other CO is off on holiday. So maybe it isn't all so bad after all.

Just found out Boyhalf's friend invited us to his wedding reception in September so i've been dress hunting like nothing on earth. It's an excuse (not that i ever need one) to buy a really lovely dress that's a little more expensive than i'm usually comfortable with. I have a few i'm thinking about but i'm trying really hard not to relive Ben's wedding when i was informed i looked like a stripper. BAD TIMES.
I think i fell out with RB but i'm not sure since he texted me late last night to tell me he's coming out this weekend. I don't like falling out with people who make me smile, it's never fun. Let's hope we're close enough for it not to count. *fingers officially crossed*.

tIlf!!
USB cassette archivers, Knobbly Bobbly ice lollies, Dinner and bowling night with,Boyhalf Wifey and the Beasto, Finishing One Tree Hill season 5 OMG, Wedding guest dress shopping, My new ringtone (ADTR - I'm made of wax larry), Trailfinders, People who stop me in shops to tell me i look good and ask where i get my stuff (always say vintage, no style stealers please), Realising i AM better, Swan's Obama mask, Boyhalf's dramatization of Ice Age 3 for me since it was sold out, Falling in love with The Spirit, Running outside in rainstorms in my pants, Being informed i'm funny, Pee Wee Herman, Couture porn, Speaking an inordinate amount of french, Old friends, ELLE, Magpies.

June - end of month update

June has been an extraordinarily good month. Lots of sun which makes this girl a super happy blogger. Sometimes i wonder if i suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder because i am so damn happy when it's sunny. Like mad amounts. It's not that winter bothers me, i just like an excuse to blast out my sunnies, not wear tights and drink beer outdoors.
Boyhalf and myself just spent the last two days in Glasvegas getting away from everything and just enjoying being with one another.
It was our three year anniversary on Tuesday and it meant a whole lot more than it usually would after everything we have been through the past year. It's been horrible and amazing at times but it really made us realise how much we are meant for one another. Hearing him tell me how much i mean to him and how everything seems like another life because he can't imagine life without me is exactly what a girl needs sometimes and i don't really care what anyone else thinks anymore. It's the most honest we've both ever been.
Trying to figure out ways to get to Vegas from Glasgow to get married at 2am with a hundred quid is what makes me love him more. That and him judging people's dress sense with me and singing Dizzee Rascal songs without stopping for breath.
I really can't describe how happy we are. and smug. We're extremely smug.

So here's this months breakdown...

Good things i watched.

My Best Friend's Girl
Love Dane Cook. Can't get enough of him. It's not like this movie is especially new or profound but it is pretty damn funny and if you love no frills gross out comedy this is for you.

Kidulthood
I had heard a LOT about this and don't really know why i took so long to get around to it but i'm super glad i finally did. Had me saying 'Blud' at the end of everything though. I suspect this wore thin with other people pretty quick.

Bride Wars
I needed something to watch when i was ill that wouldn't make my head hurt. Actually quite enjoyed it. Made me want to plan a wedding though.

The movies i reviews here and a lot of The Hills and Big Brother. A LOT.

New blogs i'm enjoying.

Fur Coat, No Knickers by Rachael Gibson

Things i love Friday.

This week since i've been a sick pup i've spent much more time than usual on my laptop surfing the interwebs and a whole lot more time playing vintage video games. That's right folks the Boyhalf gots me a SNES (like i needed ANY more reasons to love him). S we've spent a whole lotta time this week sitting playing Mario Allstars and taking turn about. He doesn't mind when i get all pouty when i die straight away and want another go and it's mad cute when he tells me he'll "show me how it's done" then fails miserably. I say it often but i'll say it again.. KEE-PER.
He doesn't even mind me constantly quoting the Mario movie even though i know he finds it horrendous i've even seen it enough to quote it.

"Name?
Mario.
Last name?
Mario.
And you?
Luigi.
Luigi Luigi?
No, Luigi Mario!"

Forever love.
Plus he digs my mexican accent when i read out stuff on screen.

I can't really go through without obviously mentioning the passing of Michael Jackson. Incredible songwriter and he really does stand above the rest when it comes to how many people he has influenced through the years. Obviously there is a hideous amount of controversy surrounding him but that doesn't mean, in my eyes, he shouldn't still be missed as an artist.
Farrah Fawcett's passing has also saddened me and i still haven't plucked up the courage to watch Ryan O Neils statement as i'll cry like a baby like i did with Liam Neeson's statement about his wife. Farrah was one of the most beautiful women ever and she will also be sadly missed.

This week's honourable mentions go to...
My social calender filling up super nicely, Going to London for Fashion Week , Anniversary time planning, M&S cherries, Turkey Dinosaur cravings, "people will think you're one of those America's top models", Transformers banter, Overheard in New York
,The radio playing Michael Jackson songs every ten minutes, Payday being here finally, Red toenails, Everyone fighting with Perez on Twitter, My copycat's failed attempts at being quite as parfait comme moi, Audrey Tatou as Coco Chanel, First pics of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, 365 reasons to party , and finally my new necklace which wins everything. It's the best thing i have ever seen in my whole life. BE JEALOUS !

Songs Of The Week.
La Roux - Bulletproof
Belle & Sebastian - Piazza, New York Catcher
Regina Spektor - Folding Chair
Spinnerette - Ghetto Love

Something Corporate - 21 and Invincible

Things i love friday

This weeks Things i love Friday is sponsered by Liam Neeson's particular set of skills in the movie Taken.
Liam Neeson is a close second to Gary Oldman for my hottest silver fox award, but Gary just pips to the post because to be fair, Sirius Black. Oh man. If you haven't seen this film i suggest you do it reminds me a lot of Man On Fire, if Denzel had kicked half as much as as Neeson, he takes NO shit. I swear.
Transformers tonight. Can't wait. Review winging its way to this blog when i get home from the movies, however i must warn you that the chances of me bad mouthing anything about this movie is pretty slim. I just fucking LOVE Transformers., And Shy the Beef, And Megan "95% legs" Fox

This week's honourable mentions are:
Liam Neeson, my pasta cooking skills, Rb's cute nicknames for me, Boyhalf giving me a weeks supply of Prawn Cocktail crisps since i'm an addict, Prison rules football, Thinking the singer in A Skylit Drive was a girl, Clearer the Sky's comeback, Finally having a working phone, Daleoncye, Fergowans, Planning my tattoo for next month and actual following it through this time, TNT show, Speaking french to police officers, Miss V's Ice Cream dress, Deaf porn, Power Thirst.

Songs of the week
Alexisonfire - Emerald Streets

Enter Shikari - Zzzonked
Katy Perry - Waking Up In Vegas
Jack's Mannequin - Swim

Loose Lips Sink Ships.

Gossip Gossip Gossip.

Bitch Bitch Bitch.

That's how most weekends go these days.

Friday i went to Korova as usual and had a great time until the inevitable dramarama started. For once not really aimed at me (y) yay high fives all round ! But it fully made me aware of how different Boyhalf and his brother are and i'm sure lucky i got the one i did. I really don't have time for people like that anymore.

Saturday stayed in mainly cuz i couldn't hack more drama and in hindesight it was a good choice. I still know the jist of everything that went down though. I don't intentionally seek out gossip, I just know the right people, there isn't much you can hide from me these days, after realising important stuff was flying under my radar last year i make it my business to make your business my business. I don't even want to know to tell people, i just feel like if i know what's going on i can't ever get involved in the lies that are going around.

Boyhalf and i spent the whole of Saturday when he got in from work in bed having incomparable banter and incomparable sex. That boy is a full blown keeper.

I really feel bad for one of the boys, he's such a sweetheart, like a straight up adorable guy and now thanks to rumours and lies he feels like he can't talk to a girl he likes. In this town you can't be anyones pal without them thinking you're doing the nasty. I've learnt that from the rumours surrounding me and RB and me and JC (despite the fact i consider him a little brother. ACK) a girl and a guy can't hang out together alone if they're not dating, that's just crazy.
(I sure hope your sarcasm detectors are fully tuned in)

Speaking of little bro, i'm trying super hard to keep my cool about the possibility of him being dicked around once again. . He's far too good a guy to put up with it. I'm not going to divulge further about this though because i want to wait to hear the truth before we all lynch someone and besides, it's not really MY battle.

Yesterday i hit the pub with JC and we got a little tipsy before hitting Union T's to play football with the whole gang, about 20 of the most decent folk you'll meet. Such banter. I can't even describe how much fun i had, or how much my legs ache today!

Things i love (and not so much) Friday.

Yay for another quick week. I think since i've kept busy i've barely noticed time pass. Spent time with Jamielee this week, and twice this week i've cooked mouth orgasm inducing dinners, Fajitas for Jamielee and Macaroni for Boyhalf, not exactly difficult dishes to master, i am aware, but nonetheless i was proud and the recievers were most happy. I think from now on unless it's something i'm super into i'm just going to do honourable mentions every week for Things I Love Friday. I don't have a lot of time on Fridays to write and, while i'm aware i could have Things I Love Saturday, it doesn't have the same ring to it.
I'm also using this as a platform (pun intended) to discuss these shoes.

Celine Graffiti sandals, £765, Farfetch.com

I don't understand a single thing about these shoes, at all. NOTHING. I can't even figure out who would wear them. 16cm heels and nothing to support your heel in the middle? Not for me thanks. i can think of only one person who might find these appealing. Her name start with L and ends in Gaga.

So this week's honourable mentions go to :

Waking up in a great mood, Justin Bobby's short hair, Vic's impression of the boy who pees in his pint, Kidulthood, Talking in "izzles", Channeling Blair Waldorf in my new dress, stetching my ears once more.

Thursday, 4 June 2009

I wanna love like Johnny and June.

"Oh there's something 'bout a man in black, Makes me want to buy a cadillac, Throw the top back, And roll down to Jackson town."

You know there's really something there when the person you're with can drive you stir crazy up the wall and you still get tummy bumps at the thought of them.
Love can be incredible and horrendous simultaneously.

The weekend we said Happy Twenty Faux birthday to Vic, partied like tramps and checked out the new Klub ( i decided drinking straight gin with a slice of lime was a good choice).
This weekend made me realise just how much i love drunken heart to hearts, even if you talk utter nonsense for the entire time you feel at the time you are saying some profound shit. I had several of these lately, and it seems i'm becoming the "go-to" girl for people's problems,, i always thought i was pretty crappy at advice but turns out i can be quite sound about it.
Saturday was a buh-bye to E's party flat and i don't really remember much about it, tears and tantrums was about all i can pick out from it all. I shouldn't drink Vodka it clearly makes me crazy.

The week has been a busy one too, checked out To Our Glorious Dead FINALLY and represented family, hit the pub hard with both RB and Boyhalf on different days and hung with the quadruple threat last night dancing to OMD, lusting after Andrew McCarthy and laughing so hard at Gonnella i thought i would die.
(pee ess props to Gonnella to introducing me to amaretto and coke. Winner at life.)

Some people think i've abandoned my pals, i think i've found the real ones.

xoxo

Whiteboy Hiphop - The Flipside

After writing about how much i love my white boy hiphop i felt the need to say something else. Some of them are straight up awful. I'm talking about DJ, Presenter and all round wanker, Tim Westwood and the bane of my existance, and the marker for all shit music comparison from here on out. BrokeNCYDE.
Brokencyde (i refuse to pander to your capital letter douchebaggery) are fucking horrendous, like actually they are so far beyond the tropes of irony and the sort of thing the boys at Lonely Island do, you have to wonder...is this for real? They really should be the fucking mascots of Douchebag Academy. Also i love that on their Wikipedia page one of the guys is there soley listed as "fog machine and lights". Hi, yeah ... doesn't that make the guy a technician..not a band member? Oh and they have a Pig mascot, for no real reason, other than to make me want to punch animals.
Oh and they're playing here next month, and tickets and two for one apparently, so get in there.

My issues with Westwood are well documented and i don't really need to go on about him here, mainly cuz i'm at work and on lunch and i don't want to be stressed at a cockney wide boy who talks like he's from the hood all afternoon. But Westwood, as i have learned lately and had to apologise to boyhalf for not believing him, is FIFTYONE FUCKING YEARS OLD. Tim Westwood, who dresses and acts like a 16 year old wigga on parole, is basically the same age as my pops. He is possibly the oldest and whitest gangster to have ever survived the famous British ghetto of Norfolk His fake assed Pimp Limp and his "keeping it real" lingo grind my gears tenfold.
Oh and he got shot once, which adds to his general gangster image, apparently it was a contract killing gangland thing, i'm of the impression he staged it himself to appear more 'street'. The only thing that;s fucking criminal is his bastarding accent.
Whatever Westwood.

A safety buzz and some cheap red wine...

My friend Jamielee took this photo of myself and RB on Friday. I think it's rare to capture a moment of true unposed happiness on film. But best pals are what make my world steady.when everything else seems to be stuck on the mental setting.

(I have also come to notice just how tiny my hands look holding a big glass.)

Lately i've not been sleeping much. Tossing, yes. Turning, oh for sure, but actually enjoying sweet slumber? I should be so lucky....it's biblical how fucked my sleep can be......I guess i should count myself lucky i'm not sleeping alone. My partner in spooning related crime is way cooler than the sandman anyway.
