Sex and the City flashbacks !

I am ADORING these photos i keep seeing from the set of SATC 2. It seems we get to go back to the 80's with Carrie and Co and see what it was like for the girls back then. This should no doubt put fuel on the already burning 80's fashion revival.
I'm especially loving SJP's 'Like a Virgin' inspired get up.

We have seventy dollars and a pair of girls underpants. We're safe as kittens.

This Friday's blog is sponsored by my favourite director and screenwriter John Hughes, who died this morning aged 59 from a heart attack.

I don't think i can put it into words better than my darling friend Vic when i told her the news this morning.

"I am truely devastated, that man was like Jesus to us."

Yep, that basically sums it up. John Hughes was my HERO. There has, in my opinion, never been a man who captured so much of a generation right through his career. Iconic movies like The Breakfast Club, Weird Sciene, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink and Ferris Bueller's Day Off shaped the 80's and gave us the group we know today as "The Brat Pack". He also wrote Home Alone, Mr Mom, Flubber, Uncle Buck and Beethoven, so the man had skills. So i am genuinely quite upset. Sure the last thing he did was Drillbit Taylor which, although i haven't seen, i have heard is less than stellar.

So John Hughes we salute you !

For your kickass movies, soundtracks, characters and quoteable one liners. Oh and also for bringing Andrew McCarthy and Jon Cryer into my life!!

I wanna love like Johnny and June.

"Oh there's something 'bout a man in black, Makes me want to buy a cadillac, Throw the top back, And roll down to Jackson town."

You know there's really something there when the person you're with can drive you stir crazy up the wall and you still get tummy bumps at the thought of them.
Love can be incredible and horrendous simultaneously.

The weekend we said Happy Twenty Faux birthday to Vic, partied like tramps and checked out the new Klub ( i decided drinking straight gin with a slice of lime was a good choice).
This weekend made me realise just how much i love drunken heart to hearts, even if you talk utter nonsense for the entire time you feel at the time you are saying some profound shit. I had several of these lately, and it seems i'm becoming the "go-to" girl for people's problems,, i always thought i was pretty crappy at advice but turns out i can be quite sound about it.
Saturday was a buh-bye to E's party flat and i don't really remember much about it, tears and tantrums was about all i can pick out from it all. I shouldn't drink Vodka it clearly makes me crazy.

The week has been a busy one too, checked out To Our Glorious Dead FINALLY and represented family, hit the pub hard with both RB and Boyhalf on different days and hung with the quadruple threat last night dancing to OMD, lusting after Andrew McCarthy and laughing so hard at Gonnella i thought i would die.
(pee ess props to Gonnella to introducing me to amaretto and coke. Winner at life.)

Some people think i've abandoned my pals, i think i've found the real ones.

I recall Central Park in Fall, how you tore your dress, what a mess, I confess...

So Ferris Bueller's Day Off has always been a favourite movie of mine. It goes down with Brewster's Millions in the category of "movies i always watch if i'm sick". It has everything i ever wanted as a young 'un (including Matthew Broderick SIGH). Anyway, remember Ferris' best friend Cameron's house? Where the Ferrari crashed through the window and took a nose-dive into the ground? The house that Ferris described as, "The place is like a museum. It's very beautiful and very cold, and you're not allowed to touch anything."?
Yeah that bad boy is for sale and listed at $2.3 million.

The Ben Rose Home-site of the famous movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", cantilevered over the ravine, these two steel and glass buildings, which can never be duplicated, have incredible vistas of the surrounding woods. This is a unique property designed by A. James Speyer and David Haid, both notable architects of the 20th Century.

So who want's to spot me the cash? Seriously, this is a bargain. I mean Ben Stiller's house is on Real Estalker for about $12 mil and i'm pretty sure he doesn't have a wall dedicated to John Hughes . This crib does AND it's on stilts. Therefore.... Win.

Although i'd probably just sit the car in the drive every time i had to go somewhere and say "He'll keep calling me. He'll keep calling me. He'll keep calling me. I'll go. I'll go. I'll go."
